I have a feeling that this novel is really semi-autobiographical.. I think the author plays the role of Skeeter in the novel. What was written, had to be written.. Hope to see more books by Kathryn Stockett in the future

Seriously? Am I the only one who actually hates these books with a flaming passion?
They’re not even that good. This is what these books are teaching young girls out there:

1. It’s okay to either have a stalker for a boyfriend or be a stalker.
2. Teen pregnancy
3. It’s okay to have an abusive boyfriend.

Vampires do not sparkle. End of story.

Look I’ve tried to give these books a chance. But I couldn’t even get past the first five pages without hating it. I’ve grown up with better pieces of literature such as Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and The Secret Garden, which is more proper to read than Toilight.

I recently started running to keep in shape. There is a park near-by my appartement, so I decided I would buy one of these to keep track of my steps, calorie burn and distance.

This item seems to keep pretty accurate track of steps and distance. I used mapmyrun.com to measure how much distance I would run by jogging the perimeter of the park. It told me it would be 2.3 miles. I put in my stride length as per the instructions and went off and ran around the park. When I was done the Omron told me I had gone 2.15 miles. That’s pretty close! Well over 4,000 steps to do it.

So as far as accuracy is concerned, as long as you correctly enter your stride length the Omron will be pretty close.

Every time since I have used it on the same path I get consistent results.

It has nice features as well with the clock and daily tracker history for 7 days.

As long as I dont loose it, it seems like it will work well for a while. (It comes with a clip that sometimes has popped off my belt, but there is also a ’safety string clip’ you can attach)

And it was cheap!
FRONTLINE MED BLUE 23

Great product! Does exactly what i need it to do.

Isnt as a large on your arm as you’d think and I barely noticed it on my first run. The heart rate monitor (HRM) strap is very comfortable and also not noticable.

I wouldn’t use the Garmin software as there are plenty of better programs for free on the web.

Only word of caution is watch for price fluctutions – it can get as low as $120-130 and as high as $220. It changes all the time on here so just keep an eye on it for a while and when you get a feel for the trend then make your purchase! You will not be disappointed!

The product did arrive on time but the scale was faulty. As soon as I called customer service, they immediately placed a replacement order for me and also sent me a better one, where you do not even have to tap on the scale to check the weight. As an ardent supporter of small businesses I would encourage other buyers to actively consider this particular seller. My very best to this company and I hope they succeed in a world otherwise dominated by big corporations.

This Bosch Mixxo sees use in my home 3-5 times every day. Its light weight, and how it feels in your hand makes it invaluable for making smoothies to mixing cream in a coffee cup. Cleanup takes only seconds, the dual button to power the mixer is ingenious as it eliminates the mixer from engaging unexpectedly.
It is powerful enough to easily crush ice and frozen foods like berries smoothly in under 30 seconds. However, it is important to understand that the Mixxo is meant for smaller applications, e.g. 8-32 oz total. In other words, attempting to make a Margarita for 10 people is not going to work out to well.
The Mixxo is not meant for blending batters, doughs, or other thick, viscous materials. This goes for nearly all immersion blenders, the blades and small shield simply don’t allow for it.
The key feature and the one that makes it stand out from the rest is that it is cordless. If more power is needed in a cordless, they certainly exist at a much higher price, but for small everyday jobs, the Mixxo is perfect.

I have to first say that I was a die hard “anything but iPod” guy. I hated the first iPod mp3 players. I have been a loyal Zune owner for my last 2 mp3 players. Well after demoing the new 3rd generation iPod touch, NOTHING on the market comes close. Calling the iPod TOUCH 3G a MP3 player is like calling a new Core i5 laptop a calculator. I find myself checking my email more on my iPod touch than my laptop. It has become indispensable to me now. I even love the internal speaker of the iPod touch and use it often. (perfect for times you need to hear surrounding noises like watching movies while your car gets a oil change.) The most used feature is streaming FREE Pandora radio through the iPods wifi while I mow my 3 acre lawn out side. Range of the wifi is excellent with my D-Link 655 router in my basement. Once I got use to iTunes I found the apple way of doing things very efficient. I am sooooo glad I went to the dark side this time or I may have never knew how far ahead the iPod touch is to EVERYTHING else on the market. I do recommend getting the 64gb model because of the capabilities of the iPod touch. You wont regret it.

Come ON, people, this book was rediculous. The author’s attemps at African American dialect and slang of the time was off from the first page, onward. and her overuse of stereotypes was pathetic. I am a white female, have lived in the South my whole life and this book left me embarrased and offended for any African Americans unfortunate enough to pick up this piece of work. I can see that the author had good intentions, but otherwise, this was terribly written. Did you happen to take a look at her picture on the back inside cover? She is a very typical cutesy, privleged, white female…and she is unsuccessfully trying to write in the voice of an elder black poor woman. Since Stockett has used stereotypes so abundantly, I suppose it would be safe to say that her readers can do the same. Assuming that she, the cutesy white Southern woman is no doubt familiar with “Help”, has probably had it her entire life, but obviously hasn’t concerned herself with said “Help” past them getting her home and dirty laundry cleaned in a timely fashion. Had she paid close enough attention to them, she might have been better able to write in their voices.

Note to the “Author”:
Dear Ms. Stockett, please stick to the White privleged life that you know, and realize that just because you have had Help your entire life does not entitle you to write as one. I am disgusted. You ARE the white woman who gives the rest of the White, higher income, female community the snooty, uppity and all around bad reputaion that we have. The only thing you have accomplished by this awful thing that you call a “novel” (that you no doubt wrote in between soccer caravans and in bed late at night on a legal pad) is telling everyone that stereotypes are OK. So please save some trees, the world and everyone in it from a second novel. Thank you for your time and attention. ~Reader
