Scale is attractive, easy to use, extremely accurate and consistent. Thought I had a problem with legibility, but an objective observer convinced me it was my visual problem not the readout on the scale. I’m extremely happy with the scale and a discussion with an owner of the company was enlightening and he was eager to do what was necessary to assure he had a satisfied customer. Highly recommend the scale and company.

These headphones were a gift for my 11 year old daughter. She loves them. The product is exactly what is stated in the description. I can hear her music when she has them on. They are very good for the price! I would not recommend for an adult traveling.

I am very satisfied with my Forerunner 305. I use it for running and skiing. It is easy to use, just turn it on and start running. GPS accuracy has been great for me, within 1-2 % accuracy on controll-measured routes. I chose the 305 instead of the 405 because of the good reviews here on Amazon and because of the good price, and I feel I made the right choice. Definitely 5 stars from me!

What an awful book. Written in 1951, this book originally sparked great controversy with its mature themes focusing on the teenage angst, loneliness and rebellion of the protagonist Holden Caulfield. I guess its like a really bad version of James Dean’s classic Rebel Without a Cause. Caulfield is the archetype of an underachiever. Today kids are reading about the latest sluggard – Greg Heffley from The Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The characters Greg and Holden have a lot in common.

Catcher in the Rye follows the life of Holden Caulfield for a few days after being expelled from Pencey prep school as he returns home to New York City and contemplates life. Although, Caulfield does little contemplation and spends most of his time whining and complaining about everyone and everything. He sees the negative in everything (except his little sister) and makes one bad and offensive decision after another for almost 300 pages of misery. The only value I can find in reading this book today is to use Holden Caulfield as an example of what NOT to be – lazy, negative, and uninspired. Unfortunately the latest version of Holden Caulfield appears to be as popular with readers today as Catcher in the Rye was fifty years ago. When are we going to wake up and stop celebrating negative characters like Holden and Greg?

I can honestly say that I was hesitant to read this book because of all the publicity and hype it have received. I was afraid that they hype was just that–hype–and the book wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I started reading around 11:30 p.m. and the next thing I knew it was 6:00 a.m.; I had finished the book. I just couldn’t put it down because I got drawn into the story.

Like many readers, I was, at first, a little put off by Bella stating how beautiful Edward was over and over again. (I think after the 3rd time readers probably got the idea that the man is perfection in physical beauty.) However, the characters were so well sketched and their flaws so real that I couldn’t help being intrigued by them. And yes, even Edward, who is perfect to Bella, has some “character” flaws, which is what I think makes him a realistic and believable character. The human qualities of emotions and desires that Meyer has given Edward and his family make them work well as characters. The only character that I found slightly annoying was Renee, Bella’s mother, who really does play a very minor role in the book.

For a teenage paranormal romance, I also think the plot works well and does a good job of conveying many of the primary anxieties of high school and teenage relationships/romances without being overly angst-ridden. Meyer does an especially good job of sketching out what it feels like, from the character’s perspective, of being an outsider in a small town. I think she does a good job of this from both Bella and the Cullen’s perspectives.

Set in Jackson, MS during the Racial turmoil of the 1960s, and told from the perspective of a well-to-do White lady who has returned to her parent’s home following graduation from Ole Miss. While waiting there for a real job to materialize, this would-be Editor, begins to observe, and becomes sensitized to attitudes and Class lines drawn between her family and their Black housemaid, as well as those housemaids employed in homes within her circle of friends. Her new-found sensitivity creates friction between herself and her friends. That she wants to record the feelings and stories of the Black maids creates the major storyline. This novel and its characters are well developed and, the story moves along, making it a great read!

I have a big (~22#) very active 14 month old daughter who has been walking for several months. She’s very fast and usually fearless — and she will readily zip off to explore the world on her own, leaving her parents in the dust!

We purchased the first harness about a month ago. The first time we put it on her at home (– a “test run” –), she didn’t like it — but that’s not unusual for small children. However, she got used to it quickly and it has become standard-operating-procedure for her to put it on before we go out to the car and go anywhere. While she likes to explore things, she also recognizes/respects the boundaries it establishes. I also find that the waistband makes a good handhold when giving her piggy-back rides. Unlike another reviewer, I have not had any difficulty with the velcro not holding or the child opening the velcro — however, that difference might be caused by the difference in the age or temperment of the children.

The two suggestions that I would offer other parents are: (a) Allow the child to become accustomed to the harness BEFORE going out in public — take the child for walks around the house or in the yard — and (b) keep the shoulder straps very loose — as the harness is much, much easier to put on and take off that way, and there is no functional reason that the straps need to be tight.

The only suggestion I would offer to the manufacturer is to include padding sleeves to put over the shoulder straps where they go along the neck. This would prevent chaffing if the shoulder straps are kept tight. (However, as a note to parents, if the shoulder straps are kept loose, chaffing is not an issue.)

Needed to get my mom a scale that was low-tech, and she is happy with this scale.
