I loved my kindle, really did. I was a bit phased when the iPad came out so quickly after I purchased my kindle, and the fact that as an Australian I can’t even access the full functionality of the kindle, but I comforted myself with the knowledge that I’d purchased a good, well priced product. Imagine my horror when I find out, through an email delivered straight to my inbox, that I hadn’t purchased a well priced product at all – in fact I had purchased a product at more than double it’s real worth. Even though I paid well over $300 less than a year ago, the product is now being advertised at $139 – who knows, maybe it is only worth $10?
This is extremely disappointing amazon.
Canon EF Lens 50
I now have been using my kindle for three weeks. I was initially impressed by the helpfulness of the kindle community, which is essential reading for a new owner.
The speed of delivery was impressive – four days from the USA to my door-step on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Initially, I found the page small by paperback standards. However, after purchasing a leather jacket and after an hour of reading I soon realised that the book reading pleasure in my later life is greatly enhanced. The convenience of print size, portabiulity and the excellent wireless connection and fast downloads from the Amazon store are outstanding achievements. I am particuilarly impressed by the free first chaper (- or more) sample of an enormous range of books. Prices from Amazon are fair and cheaper than most sites I have found and it is not too difficult to download and reformat other Ebooks, especially classics from the Guthenburg site.
As a life long reader, this is the most rewarding reading experience I have yet encountered. Now my wife wants one!
Canon EF 70 200mm
I was originally looking to get a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, for the focal length and glass speed. Taking into consideration that my 40D has a FOVCF of 1.6, I opted to get the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 — the equivalent focal length is close enough to what I was looking for. I don’t regret making that decision at all. This is an awesome lens.
