I know at Auto stores that stuff isn’t cheap. I needed one 15a fuse for my horn, and I knew if I went to an Auto store it’d cost me like 3 dollars just for a fuse. So I checked Amazon.com and this kit had 150 pieces plus some great tools. It has a socket tester, alligator clip, and a tweezers. The auto tester is very nice to see if juice is coming through for the sockets. I think the light inside it lights up if it is good. The tweezers are nice and long for pulling hard to get fuses. The alligator clip is used to install fuses I believe. Anyways, this kit is great and comes with a great variety of fuses. For 8.50 plus amazon prime shipping I got this for a steal. Even for regular shipping is about 12 dollars all said and done, this is still a great deal. I would have paid up to 20 dollars for this kit.

Great case. Very durable and protects the Phone well. However, the belt clip holder doesn’t hold phone that well. Needs alittle better design. Having said that, the holder does a nice job of holdng the phoneas as a display and viewing it on a table. No need to hold your phone while watching a movie.

Battery or charge circuit failure on the 2nd day. Will only run on AC adapter now. Waiting for ASUS tech support to send me an RMA. Too bad, it looked like a nice little unit to stuff into a bag while travelling. Now I’m having a bit of buyer’s remorse. I’ll update this later to let everyone know how ASUS tech support is to work with.

Update 1 – Asus is asking for a credit card number for a warranty replacement. That seems strange to me, to say the least.

Update 2 – I declined to give them a credit card number for a warranty replacement. Now the situation is that they will ship a battery after they receive the defective battery.

Personal lessons from this experience:
1. The terms of ASUS’ “warranty” are extremely limited – Oddly enough, they do pay shipping back to me as long as I take care of everything else up front.
2. They require up to 48 hours to respond to email requests (are they seriously under-staffed?)
3. I think it would have been a decent netbook but never had a chance to try it – I’m switching to an HP 110 Netbook.

After I receive the replacement battery from ASUS I’ll but putting the Eee PC up for grabs on eBay. As an engineer, I expect better from the technology I use and I certainly expect better from the companies I support.

Adieu.
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA

This little PC rocks. I got it for my nephew and it is working perfectly. He plays his online kiddies game and his mom watches her soap on it. The fact that the OS is XP is a plus.

This is my first GPS type device and I really like it! Now, I am free to walk/run all around the area and can get the exact mileage. This eliminates me having to go on the same route day after day just because I know what that mileage is. I never used the heart rate monitor (yet) so I can’t comment on that feature. The basic workout display is easy to use and I like the interval beep that tells me when to switch from walking to running. I am still unsure about the software as I did install the CD but it is not very user friendly. Now, I don’t do my walk/run without it!
