I bought this as a replacement for my previous Omron HJ-112, which I had been using for about 2 years (I accidentally ran it through the washing machine – it is not waterproof, in case you were wondering). I ADORE this pedometer – it can go in my pocket, so it does not have to clip to (and fall off) my waistband, and so people don’t ask you about it constantly. The 7 days of memory is great for tracking, and it does not count false steps when I am in a vehicle. I find the distance (you have to enter your stride length, but that is easy) and calorie counts are accurate. I have never had any problems, and if this one breaks I will buy another. :)

Great item. Bought for my son over a year ago, wish I bought one for me. I borrow his all the time to play games on it
Petmate Walkabout Retractable Belted

Since so many people have reviewed this item, I thought I would be more location specific and also mention a few points that might not be obvious.

One. I live in Modiin, Israel. The GPS maps the route but unfortunately (and I expected this) the Garmin maps are non-existent for Modiin. I suspect that this might change now that Garmin are selling GPS for cars here in Israel. The ability to view your route in Google Earth is cute to, but the roads don’t display in Google Earth either. Neither of these things are actually a problem at all for running but I thought I should point it out.

The GPS has multiple configurable screens and I like to have one of the screens displaying (amongst other things) the GPS accurance. This shows you how accurate and quickly it gets a reading. For some of my run the accurance is 8m which is very impressive.

I also love the fact that you can switch the light on and leave it on for the run. I go out for an hour in the morning and it’s usually before sunrise (which is also one of the options so you can see what time it’s going to get late). It’s nice to have the light on the whole time. I plug in the watch into my laptop to sync and whilst it’s syncing it also charges and quite kindly lets you know when charging is complete.

I’ve only had this a week and used it for 4 runs, but so far I’m very happy.

I use it to track my running, biking, and canoeing. Does a great job. Locks in on satellites very quickly. The user interface on the device is a bit clunky, but does the job fine.

The data is the reason to have the 305. I’ve really switched my workouts over to more heart rate zone training and the watch is perfect for it. Heart rate function works perfectly. Speed function is almost always exactly what my bike speedo shows.

Overall I’m very pleased with the purchase.

Two possible improvements
1. I wish I could configure the settings from the Garmin software rather than having to use the 305 buttons. For example configuring the disply settings, clearing history, etc would be much nicer in a GUI on the computer rather than the buttons on the 305.
2. If I have the setting wrong for Running, Biking, Other, I can’t see how to change it once its downloaded into the Garmin software. So if you run when the 305 is set to Biking, your workout will show up in biking, calculate calories based on biking, etc.

One word of warning – although the device is called waterproof with an IPX7 rating, I know several people who have had water get in the device and ruin it. When I use mine in the ocean I keep it in a drybag.

Bought it just to get Microsoft Office 10 for a reasonable price. I have been using 10 beta for a couple months and really like it!

I waffled for months on whether I wanted to purchase an ipod touch and finally gave in. I’m glad I purchased this item and now can’t live without it! I’m already considering an iphone in the future. Awesome apps, music, and surprised at how easily I can surf the web and read ebooks. The portability of this device is outstanding.

The only downfall is the battery life, seems like I need to charge it several times a day. This would be the main consideration that might prevent me from getting an iphone, I’d be concerned I would use up battery time even faster if using also using as a phone. I’ve already purchased a power adapter and charge bloc to help pick up the slack.

Awesome entertainment for the size

Ordered Wii to exercise, we ar nearly 80. We got FIT games, enjoy bowling, golf, baseball. Thought it would include exercise series used by our daughter, but find we have to have balance board; unable to find balance board for purchase. Expensive, think the descriptions of games, accessories on AMAZON should be more complete. Find Wii still not completely available in stores. Would not buy again for our ages!

Works perfectly. I bought 2. 1 for my PS3 and the other for my HD cable box. Why pay $40-50 each at a store? I got 2 of these for less than $8 and there’s no difference. Highly recommended.

I asked for a vaccumn for Christmas this year and my mother bought this one for me. I had just bought my own place and got a roomba as a house warming present. The downside was that Roomba cannot do the stairs. My mother chose the tempo after reading reviews online. It was within her budget so that this would not be the only christmas present she bought this year :) I love it! Its light enough for my stairs and is powerful enough for the wood pieces left after moving firewood. The only con about this machine is that its a little on the loud side. But that doesn’t weight too heavily.
