I’ve read this book a few times in my life, roughly every decade since high school. Each time I find new or different meaning in Holden’s struggles. It’s too easy for us to say, “snap out of it!” as some suggest; but I think that really turns a blind eye to the real internal struggles that many teens have today. Moreover, how we deal with “phonies” is a debate that many of us have well into our adult life. This book still hits a cord for me.

very well. i bought this bike recently. Schwinn Prelude Road Bike is a great bike and rides real smooth compared to older road bikes. the parts seem high quality and their easy to adjust if needed especially the brake calipers. it took me just a little bit to put it together, but thats because i took my time. if you purchase this bike you will not be disappointed. i haven’t rode a bike in years and one of the reasons was to get this bike was to help my diabetes. my first rode trip i was trying to take it easy and end up riding 14 miles. it felt really good i couldn’t wait for my next ride.
Not as described. This is a pretty good bike except fot the fact that the front fork is listed as being the “omni” front fork which has adjustable tension. The bike i recieved came with the “suntour” fork which is non-adjustable. If i were to shop for another bike i would first go to sears, target, or walmart to make sure that the bike i buy has exactly what Schwinn Ridge AL Mens Mountain Bike advertises.
Outstanding bike for a great price. I’m new to road biking, but I’ve been mountain biking for quite some time now. The one thing that I’ve learned is that you want to start off with a well built bike that has potential. This is that bike. There are a lot of newer mechanical advances that allows for further upgrades to some of the newest and hottest components on the market. It comes with a 1 1/8″ threadless headset, three piece crankset, rear derailleur hanger and a single bolt seat post. All features are convenient for easy upgrades. Mechanically that bike performs very well. Out of the box assembly was minimal and easy. I’m 5′ 7″ and went with the 54cm model and Schwinn Katana Road Bike fits me great. Once I took it on a quick spin I noticed that the gears needed a little adjusting which almost all bikes due. Ever since it’s been working great. I’ve had no problems with it and I’m already past 100 miles. Last thing I want to leave u with is that bike shops are really the only place to buy these bikes and they start off at around $700. Also if you try to find a good used one chances are the bike is going to be pretty old and still sell for about $400 plus.
keny. I researched the internet for a long time before I decided to buy the 140. It fit what I was looking for as far as features and affordability. Then I waited 30 days to write my review. I so far I am not disappointed. The bike arrived quickly, was easy to assemble and is a good ride. I rated Schwinn 140 Upright Exercise Bike a 4 out of 5 because a part was damaged in shipping and it took two phone calls and a month wait for the replacement part. Also the handlebars are slightly out of alignment. But the ride is smooth and very quiet (compared to my last bike a ProForm). My wife doesn’t even think I’m riding. So far I have put on a little over 230 miles and have burned (supposedly) just under 7000 calories. I enter my own programs and feel I receive a great workout. I have not been able to get the heart rate monitor to work but I am not a big fan of having that on the handlebars anyway so I don’t care. I know I am getting my rate up. I have had many different exercise bikes over the years and this is the best so far. I ride pretty hard and after a month there are no noises from wear yet. Seems quite solid. I strongly recommend this model.
