A novel relevant to teens today and one that will be relevant for years to come is The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger. Taking place in the 1950s, the novel follows the narrator, seventeen-year-old Holden Caulfield, as he fails out of yet another prep school during his struggle to find his place in this world of “phonies.” He is stuck between childhood and adulthood, unable to make the transition, and fearing that he too will become one of these “phonies.” Through Holden and his predicament, Salinger portrays the theme of the loss of childhood innocence and fear of growing up that many teens experience every day.
As Holden encounters difficulties with roommates, relatives, and relationships, teenage readers can connect to his problems and understand his feelings and desire to remain young. He shares the confusions of sex, love, and overall morality, unable to understand what is right. Although some argue that the language of the novel is too harsh, profane, and perhaps unnecessary; it is through this tone that young readers relate. This abrasive dialogue helps to show that Holden is not some perfect prep school kid but an everyday teen who makes mistakes and fears what the future may hold. At first he seems to have a tough and almost rebel-like exterior, but as readers learn of his close relationship to his little sister Phoebe and the pain he feels concerning the death of his brother, it becomes evident that underneath the façade is a caring and loving heart.
A truly timeless work of literature, Holden and his dilemmas are a model for many. Highly recommended, Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye tackles the quandary that all teens face as they transition into adulthood, encouraging them to be true to themselves and avoid becoming just another “phony” of today’s world.
Tiny Treasures Lucky in
I received this as a gift for our daughter’s baby shower. She loved it so much I bought one for my niece’s new baby boy. From one month until she outgrew it (about 9 months) she played with this every day. At first, just looking in the mirror and at the animals. Eventually, pulling the animals and kicking to make the lights and music come on. Stood up to many, many hours of play and she thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tiny Love Kick N
My daughter is three months old and loves to play on this mat. I took some of the hanging toys off because there too many. Now I just put up a couple at a time and change them out every few days for variety. The activity mat is fun and colorful and there are lots of educational phases. My favorite feature is that it folds over and snaps making it flat for easy storage. And the arches can be removed as well if you want just the mat. The part that lights up and sings is also removable.
I would highly recommend this product
Tiny Love Gymini Duet
We just took in a black lab mix and his hair was just everywhere! We also have an american pit bull terrier and an APBT/rottweiler mix. It gets SO many hairs off of our black lab(which has about medium to long hair), like no other brush has before. On our pittie/rottie mix (has short to medium long hair), it gets alot of hairs off of him too. Both the lab and pittie mix shed pretty good. If I brush them each once or twice a week, it definitely minimizes the dog hair found on my floor inside my house! My purebred ABPT doesnt shed much and has very short hair and the brush gets what it can. I love this brush and the price on amazon! This brush is about $50 at petsmart! & I got it for a measley $10 + shipping! Its a GREAT DEAL! I love AMAZON!!
Tiny Love Follow Me
My daughter and I loved this product. We would have people walking down the street stop and ask where I purchased it. Because I have to take the stroller in and out of my truck and I didn’t want to remove the toy tray every time, some of the bottle holders broke off. Eventually I had to throw it away.
Tiny Love Grip and
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
If you like fantasy, you would love Artemis Fowl because it takes
place in Dublin, Ireland and has to do with breaking the barrier
between faeries and humans. Instead of faeries being the average
old fashioned kind, faeries live underground after we won the
“Eternal War”. The LEP(lower elements police) actually are
hundreds of years ahead of us and have evolved into a high tech
civilization. Artemis Fowl captures an LEP officer named Holly
Short with help from his bodyguard, Butler. Then the LEP try to get
Holly back. Artemis’s intention is to not hurt Holly but to trade
her for gold. The LEP decides to kill Artemis in many ways. Read
to see if Artemis survives!
I recommend this book to solo readers from eight to eighty. This book is
about a battle between faeries and humans but no one dies or gets hurt.
Artemis Fowl is on audio books, hardback and paperback. The best
feature is you have a code to crack on the bottom that is related to the
code in the book. This is the first in a fantasy series and you should
read Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident next.

Tiny Love Tummy Time
Almost the same basic characteristics than previous versions of Microsoft Windows, some improvements, and I hope I won’t confront the rejections and troubles created by Windows Vista. XP was fantastic.
Hope Microsoft learned the lesson.
From the other reviews, i was expecting to have my socks knocked off as I had in “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls and “Replay” by Ken Grimwood, but instead I found that I was pleasantly entertained. No more. No less. The most impressive parts of this book were Sara’s portrayal of the elderly. I imagine that life for the elderly is pretty much as she portrays it, which I found enlightening and interesting. These parts ended up being my favorite! The rest of the book is colorful, imaginative, and worthwhile.
